                                Dengue Symptoms And Prevention 



                      Basic Symptoms

·        Dengue usually starts suddenly with a high fever, rash, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, and muscle and joint pain. 

·        Nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite are common. 

·         A rash usually appears 3 to 4 days after the start of the fever. 

·         The illness can last up to 10 days, but complete recovery can take as long as a month. 



How to Prevent

·        Avoid mosquito bites (Particularly on day time)

·        Use mosquito repellents containing DEET, picaridin(KBR3023) or oil of lemon eucalyptus.

·        Use mosquito nets at home

·        Keep Clean the mosquito breeding sites at home, workplaces and their vicinity (Flower pots, Air coolers etc)

·       Discarded container-like objects, like tyres, coconut shells, bottles, etc. (should be disposed off or destroyed)

·        Don’t store water in open containers,  Cover all water containers with lids (Drink boiled water)

·        Wear protective cloth like long-sleeved shirts, long pants, socks and shoes when outdoors.
