The Last Meeting !!!
Hello!! Good
Morning!!
I responded to her call.
Where are you
Dharam? Don’t be lazy, it’s already 9, how you could be so irresponsible, she
shouted on me!!!
I am on my way,
hang on there!! I replied gently.
Things were pretty
good that time and we are enjoying our committed relationship.
Today, 16th
Dec. 2012 was a very special day, too much cold outside and CP was packed with
lovers and couples. And this was her birthday.
‘Life of Pi’ is a very good movie, please arrange
tickets for it, she requested me.
OK! Ok ! Birthday girl, I am trying; I replied and started
browsing on my phone.
Finally we booked
2 tickets for afternoon show and she was very happy.
There was love in
the air of Delhi that day, just beautiful. We enjoyed a lot with lunch, movie
and gossiping.
You are looking very beautiful in new dress, I
compliment her.
I am sorry, I supposed to gift you something on your
birthday, but I am exhausted with money, I said in a low voice.
She looked at me
and replied I want nothing, trust me. You are with me on my birthday and that’s
a great gift!! You are the best thing happened to me, she said and smiled.
It was 6 PM in the
evening and we were standing at Noida Sec-18 metro station and it’s the time to
say bye to each other. My heartbeat was going very fast and I looked at her
till she boarded in the metro.
Light and shadow
are often close to one another, who knew that “it was our last meeting”?
The day was so
beautiful, like it was only made for the lovers. But when the night came Delhi
experienced the most horrible incident ever.
A 23 years old
girl was gang rapped in the city. “ Nirvaya” !!
The news spread
like fire and the whole nation was crying next day.
I afraid and call
her next day to know, if she reached home safely.
She picked up the call and said, yes!
Oh! Thank God! I was feeling relieved.
Next day evening,
A message popped up in my phone – I am going home tomorrow, My parents want me
to come home immediately.
Why? What happened? I replied quickly.
They are scared
because of this rape incident, she replied.
Oh! Common yaar!!
I have to go home
Dharam, I will return soon. She replied with few sad smiles.
I called her
several times and sent lot of messages for next 10 days, but her phone was
switched off. I was very worried.
On 29th
Dec, mid night, I got a call from her sister that she is hospitalized due to
drugs overdose.
On 29th
morning I reached, hospital and saw her lying on the bed for the last time.
I was feeling
blank. My heart burst into tears and I sat down there.
That day the
nation lost her two brave daughters.
One Nirvaya and
one the love of my life.
Rest in peace,
both of you!!!
